Skaterboys, PUMA has collaborated with Northern Cali natives and skate culture icons, Santa Cruz Skateboards to celebrate its 50 years of Suede excellence for a sneaker and tee pack that will make you flip.
Known as the oldest skate brand with its rad designs and loud graphics, it has never stopped production since its beginnings. Santa Cruz was founded in 1973 by surfers Rich Novak, Doug Haut, and Jay Shuirman in Santa Cruz, CA.
Also considered a cultural icon is the “Screaming Hand,” Santa Cruz’s main logo designed by Jim Phillips Sr. in 1985, inspired by the power of the hand, the way we use our hands to express ourselves through words, art and music.
The Screaming Hand is embroidered on the side of each heel, the blue hand against the black suede upper. The Formstrip becomes the scream, a wave of red sound and adrenaline. The artwork is enveloped in a lush black suede upper atop a gumsole.
Match your sneakers with the PUMA x Santa Cruz Tee while you’re at it.
