“Fairytale and the Gate”
MOOD
A princess came from the past, recounting in the weaves of her dress the timeless charm of the art deco world after an evocative travel though time. This is how the ELISABETTA FRANCHI woman sees her mood for the Spring / Summer 2015 collection. The precious details from a time long gone are rethought from a contemporary angle by a III-millennium fairy princess. Before the gate of a majestic castle, imagination is awoken through the return of the lozenge, the protagonist of the whole collection on fabrics, applied details and embroideries.
PROPORTIONS AND MATERIALS
Structured proportions are the choice for the shoulders, the focal point of seduction, while the V-neck dominates uncontested and brings out the décolleté. Gold decorative elements appear on all items, whose shapes reminisce of noble crests of a time long gone. Laminated solutions are everywhere, in changing light gold and bronze shades, applied with a triumph of deco embroideries that make the whole look more precious. The jackets and dresses are covered in fringes to take an aggressive-chic, urban princess tone. The tops display micro cuts – matched with dresses and jumpsuits – while the skirts reveal to be shorts. The trousers stand out for very ample proportions that work their
way down with overabundant bottoms. The lozenge motive alternates with animal prints. The ankle-long skirt – must have of the collection – features princely lines.
ACCESSORIES
The focus is on micro-bags, where fringes and lozenge details are once again a reference to the key lines of the collection. As shoes go, ankle and décolleté match with impeccably elegant flat shoes.
COLOURS
Gold and bronze are the main protagonists, followed by butter, smoke and provocative brushstrokes of fire red. They all match with the maison’s classic colours, such as ivory and pale pink.
