A glittering celebration of Swarovski’s rich heritage and innovative spirit has arrived in Milan. The “Swarovski – Masters of Light: From Vienna to Milan” exhibition opened its doors at the Palazzo Citterio on June 17th, offering visitors a free, immersive journey through the world of Swarovski.
The star-studded opening night saw appearances by celebrities such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Jessica Alba, and Madelaine Petsch, all styled in dazzling Swarovski creations. Paltrow shone in a crystallized slip dress paired with an exclusive necklace from the Swarovski Created Diamonds Galaxy Collection, while Bianca Balti and Beatrice Grannò also turned heads in bespoke Swarovski outfits.
Curated by Swarovski’s Creative Director Giovanna Engelbert, the exhibition showcases the brand’s 130-year history. Visitors can admire exceptional crystal-embellished fashion pieces from renowned designers like Balenciaga, Dior, and Versace, alongside iconic red carpet looks worn by celebrities such as Harry Styles and Beyoncé.
The exhibition highlights Swarovski’s collaborations with the biggest names in fashion, music, and cinema. Over 50 crystal-encrusted outfits are on display, including pieces from Italian powerhouses like Prada, Fendi Couture, and Armani Privé. Global designers like Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood are also represented, with some historical gowns making their first-ever public appearance in Italy.
Beyond fashion, “Masters of Light” features a dazzling array of jewelry pieces, figurines, and crystals, including the largest crystal chaton ever created. Visitors can also discover Swarovski’s innovative future with a showcase of its lab-grown Swarovski Created Diamonds collection.
Divided into seven key themes, the exhibition takes visitors on a journey through time, exploring Swarovski’s evolution from its 19th-century beginnings to its current status as a global leader in crystal and fashion.
A special highlight is the “Future History” section, featuring 20 visual dialogues showcasing iconic fashion pieces by leading designers. For the Milan exhibition, this section has been expanded to include works by prominent Italian talents.
The exhibition also offers a “Pop-Up Store” where visitors can browse a curated selection of Swarovski products, and a “Garden Café” serving refreshments created by renowned Milanese chef Carlo Cracco.
“Masters of Light” is open to the public at Palazzo Citterio from June 17 to July 14, 2024. Don’t miss this chance to experience the dazzling world of Swarovski!
