After diving into the depths of the oceans and venturing out into the vastness of the galaxy in recent collections, this season it hit Creative Director Nathalie Colin that beauty is very often just around the corner. With over half the world’s population living and working in cities, Colin took inspiration from urban spaces in Paris and Los Angeles for the laid-back modernity of the new Swarovski SS17 lines.
“This season’s collection is all about Urban Romance as I was inspired by both the modernity and romantic sides of two cities that I love: Paris where I live and work, and Los Angeles where I often travel for creative inspiration and photo shoots. The romantic side of Paris is expressed through fresh and floral colors and feminine designs, while modern, architectural structures have influenced the more graphic jewelry. Los Angeles is the source of inspiration for the fluid, gypset silhouettes, as well as the must-have palm tree motifs. Every woman can express her style and mood with this collection; by stacking, layering and mixing jewelry with a personal, chic twist. This is a great way to look and be brilliant!” explained Colin.
The collection celebrates the poetry of spring and summer dressing, where the multifaceted Swarovski woman’s different looks can be switched up from day-to-evening as she shifts around the endless enchantments of the city with daring, dashing style and of course, Swarovski’s distinctive brilliance.
This season, rethink petal power with Urban Romance’s irresistible neo florals. Graphic meets organic with traditional roses and hydrangeas given the contemporary treatment in pink, emerald and violet tones inspired by the fine jewelry tradition of Paris.
Playing with the elemental geometries of the city of light, pieces also come with an architectural twist.
