The Coach Originals collection brings back vintage designs from the house’s archives. It’s a collection of vintage and new, archive-inspired bags that combine Coach’s legacy in leather craftsmanship with Stuart Vevers, the house’s creative director‘s inclusive and modern approach to authentic American style.
“The Coach Originals is both nostalgic and new. I wanted to create an experience that is unexpected to celebrate our heritage in a colorful, playful and irreverent way,”
said Vevers.
The full collection of Coach Originals bags include vintage and new archive-inspired styles that have been Restored, Remixed, and Remade.
- The Restored bags feature beloved archival Coach silhouettes that have been expertly cleaned, conditioned and restored.
- Remixed includes a limited-edition series of one-of-a-kind Coach designs handcrafted by Coach’s craftspeople from combinations of vintage Coach bags—like the Triple Dinky, which is made of three Coach Dinky shoulder bags sewn together, and the Satchel Pouch, a hybrid of a pouch and Coach’s Slim Satchel.
- Remade features new bags inspired by archival silhouettes, reimagined for now with Vevers’ playful and unpretentious sensibility. This includes bags inspired by the iconic designs of Coach’s first-ever creative director, Bonnie Cashin.
Thanks to a well-received debut during Coach Spring 2020 runway show, more archive-inspired bags are added to the men’s and women’s collection in a palette of neutral and eye-popping colours such as yellow, green, red and purple. Reimagined with a playful and unpretentious sensibility, these silhouettes have an “appealing simplicity” that makes them just as cool today as they were when they first came on the scene in the late ‘70s and early ’80s.
