Two winners, Syaqireen Hasnoddin from Malaysia and Sylvia Suri from Indonesia walked away with modeling contracts with ZALORA and Upfront Models at the grand finale of Make Me A ZALORA Model Cycle 2 (MMAZM) competition held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia last Friday. Syaqireen and Sylvia were two of the 12 finalists from over 7,000 entries from across six countries.
Syaqireen and Sylvia won themselves a paid contract to be the Face of ZALORA 2018, to be based in Kuala Lumpur. They will subsequently sign on with Upfront Models, the Official Model Agency for MMAZM Cycle 2. The two winners also received a year’s worth of wardrobe items from ZALORA.
The winners were selected by a panel of six individuals, consisted of: Shikin Gomez, model and Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 5 finalist; Luke Pereira, Singapore-based fashion model represented by Upfront Models; Rayne Reed, Head of ZALORA Design Studio; Andrea Wong, Head of Studio and Styling at ZALORA; Giulio Xiloyannis, ZALORA Managing Director and Jessica Weston, ZALORA Fashion Director.
The finalists did not leave the competition empty handed – the remaining 10 finalists were offered an opportunity to work with the event’s Official Photography Partner, Klaud9, an image library that is catered to the Asian markets, to help them build their portfolio and further pursue their modeling career.
During the runway segment of the Grand Finale, the finalists showcased the latest in Fall/Winter 2017 menswear and womenswear from ZALORA. Retro-futuristic looks dominated the runway with the finalists dressed in retro graphics and checks mixed with pop of bright colours like yellow and red.
