Once again, UNIQLO is teaming up with French model and designer Ines de la Fressange to launch a 2016 Fall/Winter collection, themed “Paris at the Height of 1960s Fashion”, featuring a line of affordable pieces steeped in Parisian charm.
The collection illustrates Inès’ pursuit of authentic high-quality clothing that all women can wear comfortably, while making them look beautiful, expertly integrated together with Naoki Takizawa, the Designer Director of UNIQLO’s LifeWear.
This season’s collection, the sixth line created in collaboration with UNIQLO, is symbolised by three elements:
1. La Femme RIVE DROITE: Classic elegance, for an elegant, sophisticated style.
An elegant style inspired by the dedicated and wise wives and mothers admired by women in every era. A peacock blue or bright red elegant cashmere knit ensemble like something out of a Jean-Luc Godard film.
2. La Femme RIVE GAUCHE : High fashion style that allows uniqueness to shine
through chic simplicity.
Inspired by traditional workwear, these items include postman jackets and hunting shirts. Evoking typical scenes from a 1960’s French movie, such as subway entrances, boats on the Seine, or Notre Dame, the styles have a feel of the intellectual Parisienne in a chester coat, dark-colored poncho, or knit jacket.
3. La Femme 70’s: A 70’s style that mixes different cultures and tastes.
Earth toned corduroy shirts, flared pants, miniskirts and flannel shirt dresses, mohair argyle knits in bright color block variations, these items express the free and open feel of the 1970’s. The collection also includes seasonal items such as stadium jackets and chunky knits, further expanding one’s fashion repertoire.
The 70 items in the collection allow women to shine in comfort and to enjoy styles with refined elegance, in a free-flowing vintage mode. Take a look at a sampling, below, and browse all the pieces. UNIQLO will feature this collection at Fahrenheit 88, Kuala Lumpur, from September 9.
