When UNIQLOÂ unveiled its first modest wear with British-Japanese Hana Tajima, the news was all over the Internet due to the apparel company being one of the first high street brands to feature Muslimah wear such as hijabs and kebayas.
And now, the achievement prompted the company to collaborate with Tajima for the third time, with Malaysian actress Elfira Loy as the face of the campaign.
Unlike the British designer’s previous work, The UNIQLO x Hana Tajima Fall Winter 2016 Collection has a stronger appeal with more attention to detail. Its fabric cuts are unrestricting to allow more movement for the wearer. Selected pieces were designed to create continuous fabric illusion that exudes grace and fluidity. In addition, other fashion detail such as curves, asymmetry cut and tie-back feature were included in this collection to enhance the wearerâs silhouette.
Tajima draws inspiration from her fatherâs ceramic creations, to create her own prints and designs featuring organic elements. The collection features darker colour shades and utilizes UNIQLOâs high quality winter wear material such as HEATTECH, Fleece and Ponte.
