The Gardens Mall Celebrates Deepavali with Sacred Cow-Themed Kolam

This Deepavali season, The Gardens Mall brings a unique cultural tribute to its festive décor by honoring one of Hinduism’s most sacred symbols—the cow. From 11 October to 3 November 2024, visitors can enjoy a beautifully crafted kolam design and immersive cultural experiences celebrating the significance of this revered animal.

Ms. Gabrielle Tan-Helfman, Head of Marketing at The Gardens Mall, explains the inspiration: “Last year, we celebrated the saree’s elegance; another year, the humble clay pot, the purna-kumbha. This year, we’re focusing on the cow, a symbol of motherhood and selfless giving in Hindu culture, to deepen understanding and appreciation of Indian traditions.”

Visitors can expect a vibrant Deepavali atmosphere with a lineup of events and performances. On select dates—October 19, 20, 26, 27, and 31, and November 2 and 3—the mall will host cultural dance showcases at 1 pm and 3 pm, featuring Kathak, Bharatanatyam, and Oyilattam. Henna art sessions are available at 2 pm and 4 pm, where guests can enjoy complimentary henna designs from skilled artists (limited slots, sign-ups required 30 minutes prior to each session).
