Over the weekend from 27 to 29 July 2018, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur celebrated the exhilarating return of Japan Expo Malaysia 2018 (JEMY 2018), an immersive 3-day All-Japan event gathering Japan’s iconic culture, music, anime, art, fashion, food, travel and live entertainment.
JEMY 2018 concluded the month-long ‘Dream Japan Festival’, a celebration of Pavilion KL’s much-loved, award-winning precinct Tokyo Street, in its 7th Anniversary. On the back of the success of the inaugural JEMY 2017, JEMY 2018 once again delighted shoppers with an even bolder, fresher and more exciting line up of Japanese celebrities, booths and exhibitions.
This year, JEMY 2018 saw over 120,000 visitors in attendance and brought 6 exciting zones: Entertainment, Taste, Lifestyle & Academic, Trend, Travel & Prefecture and Anime & Games to satisfy any Japanese fan with 3 days of fun, games, workshops, parades, fashion shows, activities and deals.
Popular for his viral song, PPAP or better known as “Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen”, pop sensation PIKOTARO returned to Malaysia and Pavilion KL on Sunday, 29 July 2018 for the first performance of his brand-new song, “Can you see? I’m SUSHI”. Droves of fans jam-packed the Centre Court to see PIKOTARO perform live and meet-and-greet this energetic viral-hit Japanese star.
Throughout the 3 days of JEMY 2018, visitors also had the chance to rub shoulders with famous cosplayer Hiroyuki-Mitsume Takahashi, actor Shogen and singer Ryuji Aoki. There were also special performances and appearances by You Kikkawa, misono, Ladybaby, ChocoLate Bomb, The Sixth Lie and Metropolis De Onelia to name a few.
Ikenobo Ikebana Exhibition
Ikenobo Malaysia, an authorized Chapter of Japan Ikenobo Society of Floral Arts, will be having a floral exhibition at Tokyo Street in Pavilion Mall, Bukit Bintang Kuala Lumpur from 3 August 2018 to 7 August 2018. This exhibition will showcase the spirit of Ikenobo Floral arts by the experienced members of the Ikenobo Malaysia Ipoh Headquarters and Ikenobo Malaysia Kuala Lumpur branch.
