For the first time in Malaysia and the world, one of Japan’s most popular Manga has brought its exhibition titled “Eiichiro Oda presents Hello, ONE PIECE Luffy is here!” (Hello, ONE PIECE) to our shores, in conjunction with the 20th Anniversary of the world-famous series! The Hello, ONE PIECE exhibition has begun from 26th August (Saturday) to 18th October 2017 (Sunday) at 3rd Floor, CUBE 1, THE CUBE, ISETAN The Japan Store Kuala Lumpur.
ONE PIECE was published in “Weekly Shonenjump” magazine since 1997 and got so popular until today, with its anime series at episode 803 in Japan and still running. Malaysia was chosen as the first location of the Hello, ONE PIECE exhibition because of its lively vibrant youth and their love for the anime, plus the Japanese culture. Fans of the series will also get to see the new stage of ONE PIECE which will continue even after its 20th Anniversary this year.
If you’re not familiar with ONE PIECE, it’s a high seas adventure manga written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda about Luffy, the leading character who gains a special ability to stretch his body like rubber after eating the Gum-Gum Devil Fruit. He then forms the Straw Hat Pirates group with his friends and embarks on an adventure to become the Pirate King by finding the mysterious treasure called “ONE PIECE”.
The Hello, ONE PIECE exhibition shows the evolving artistic aspects of Eiichiro Oda, one of it are the black and white comic illustrations highlights at the “Hello, Luffy!” Zone where it shows five of Luffy’s qualities which fans can relate to and a giant wanted-poster of Luffy and the gang too!
Next, you’ll head to the second part of the exhibition, “Hello, Colourful World!” Zone as you step into the colourful world of ONE PIECE created by Eiichiro Oda, with walls filled with colourful illustrations of the ONE PIECE characters surrounding a replica of the author’s desk in the centre of the room where you can see rough sketches of the characters on the desk too! There’s also a video featuring with Eiichiro Oda’s elaborations and skills while drawing the ONE PIECE illustration.
For the first time in the world, Malaysian fans will be the lucky ones to see the “Hello, Playful World!” Virtual Reality Zone where you can see the ONE PIECE characters drawn and brought to life by the author.
Throughout the exhibition period, you can shop for original ONE PIECE merchandises too such as T-shirts, stickers, badges, towels, and much more. Which will make awesome gifts for fans and you can even order a reproduction of the original drawings produced with super high precision printing.
