A cultural bridging festival that celebrates 50 years of Singapore-Malaysia friendship with art, craft, dance, film, literature, music, theatre and talks from 21 Nov 2015 to 17 Jan 2016
To commemorate the friendship of over 5 decades between Singapore-Malaysia, a cultural bridging festival TITIAN BUDAYA will kick off in Kuala Lumpur from November 21, 2015 to January 17, 2016 with a series of Art, Craft, Dance, Film, Literature, Music, Theatre and Talks related programmes.
Held over a span of three months, TITIAN BUDAYA will feature an estimated 400 participants from creative communities in Singapore and Malaysia in diverse programmes across different venues in Kuala Lumpur. TITIAN BUDAYA will kick off with a suprcharged weekend carnival “Next Door” on November 21-22, 2015 at Publika with a series of the following four (4) FREE admission events:

Dec 8, 2015 (Tue) | 8.30pm | TITIAN BUDAYA NIGHT: CROSSING CULTURES | Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS | A Singapore Chinese Orchestra to be conducted by Maestro Tsung Yeh in a special cross-cultural extravaganza blending Indian tabla, P. Ramlee songs, wayang kulit and jazz with Chinese orchestral music, featuring Singaporean and Malaysian compositions, the concert is graced by musical celebrities such as jazz maestro Jeremy Monteiro and Singapore Idol Taufik Batisah.

TITIAN BUDAYA will also feature talks and discussions to deepen the knowledge and understanding of creative engagements, as well as facilitate cross-border networking and learning between Singapore and Malaysia socio-cultural institutions. There will be also an arts-enabling project “UNSEEN” by artist Alecia Neo who works with visually-impaired communities in Malaysia, aims to use art as a means to effect positive change amongst the participants, as well as the larger community.
