During the 72nd Venice International Film Festival, on September 9, Jaeger-LeCoultre has honored Brian de Palma in the Sala Grande (Palazzo del Cinema) for the Jaeger-LeCoultre Glory to the Filmmaker Award. Brian Russell De Palma is an American film director and screenwriter, as well as part of the New Hollywood wave of film-making. In a career spanning over 40 years, he is best known for his suspense, psychological thriller and crime films.
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Glory to the Filmmaker Award is the annual prize established by Jaeger-LeCoultre in association with the Venice International Film Festival to pay tribute to personalities who have contributed to creating and bringing life to the art of film-making.
On the closing night of the festival, Jaeger-LeCoultre also supported the talents and presented its iconic Reverso watch to Lorenzo Vigas, Golden Lion winner for the Best Film, as well as to Valeria Golino, Coppa Volpi winner for Best Actress, and Fabrice Luchini, Coppa Volpi winner for Best Actor.
