World Vision Malaysia is back to running for a brighter future for children with its #RunForChildren virtual event.
Sign up now with the child-focused organisation to show solidarity for children and advocate for the 42 rights in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). All you need to do is run, jog, or walk (indoors or outdoors) for 42 minutes between May 15 and 31, 2022.
The fundamental focus of the event is to end violence against children by raising awareness that children have rights and should be protected against abuse, neglect and violence.
Registration fee for the Run is RM60. Proceeds from the Run will be channelled to child protection efforts in Malaysia as well as overseas.
How to participate?
First, register here. Sign up as an individual or register with your friends and family! Participants under 18 will need their parents’ permission.
Second, get paired with a child. At #RunForChildren, you’ll be running for a child – the one on your runner’s bib!
Third, collect your Runner’s Kit. Your Runner’s Kit can be mailed to you or collected at:
Date: 6 to 8 May 2022 (Friday to Sunday)
Time: 10am to 4pm
Venue: Kelana Centre Point, Jalan SS7/19, Kelana Jaya, 47301 Petaling Jaya, Selangor
Fourth, You’re ready to run! Between 15 – 31 May 2022, put on your official Run t-shirt and gear, then run, jog or walk for 42 minutes, at any time, place or pace.
Fifth, share on social media. Upload a photo of yourself with your runner’s bib with the hashtag #RunForChildren and tag @worldvisionmsia on Instagram or @WorldVisionMalaysia on Facebook.
And last, sponsor a child through World Vision’s Child Sponsorship Programme to give them everything they need to go further in life.
