This October, Monki is releasing a limited-edition capsule collection in collaboration with Selam Fessahaye. Selam is an Eritrean-Swedish stylist, costume and fashion designer making an impact on the global fashion scene. After the success of the Monki Spring 19 campaign, in which Selam worked as the stylist, the decision to collaborate with her talent as a fashion designer came naturally. Monki and Selam’s shared values of inclusivity and empowerment are at the forefront of this campaign.
This collection is a balance of Monki and my style.” Says Selam, “I love the fact that it’s[the collection is] easy to dress up and dress down in an interesting way.”
The collection embraces edgy streetwear and playful partywear garments. The oversized fit is a key element across the collection, iconic to the Monki design DNA and signature Selam style. The statement handprint design is complemented by shades of neon coral, black and brown. Standout garments include the double cuff suit set and tulle party dress. Mesh is boldly present in bodysuits and leggings. Not to mention the accessories – a quilted black bucket hat and functional belt bag.
The collection is available in selected stores and online mid-October. Visit here for more information.
