Tea lover, rejoice! Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur is bringing a sweet spot for you to try on your next get-together. Located on level 53, Altitude offers breathtaking view of Kuala Lumpur’s cityscape coupled with a new Summer Afternoon Tea Set experience.
Indulge in local and western flavours starring appetizers Char Siew Chicken Crisp, Garden Herb Tuile and Lobster Grissini, which make for divine starters to tantalize the palette. Thin enough to crumble and melt in your mouth, the crisps spark joy for what’s to come.
Next up comes the cute bite-sized sandwiches with selections ranging from Turkey Ham Cheese Sandwich, Roast Beef Sandwich and our ultimate favourite, Truffle Egg Sandwich. If there’s something you shouldn’t missed it’s definitely the latter, humble in appearance yet explosive in flavour.
The savouries, particularly the Foie Gras Delights, was indeed delightful. Foie gras terrine, smoked duck breast and roasted onion married quite beautifully with the butter milk brioche. There’s also a smoked-salmon-meets-herring-avruga-caviar, peekytoe crab meat open face sandwich with avocado dip and lemon as well as wild forest mushroom tart with mushroon espuma.
And last but not least, the sweet tooth fantasy featuring choux pastry, classic fruit tart and macaron among many. At a glance, one might think sugar high is incoming but after helping ourselves to a serving of everything, we must say that the components work in unison and everything was less sweet as we thought it would be.
At RM98 nett per person, one can indulge in a selection of tea (refillable) or coffee with the menu mentioned alongside plain scones with rich clotted cream and homemade fruit jam daily from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
