Long weekends are something that we always look forward to. It’s the time where most people intend to go on short vacation, going back to hometown, or staying home and recharge.
Next year, we have a total of five official long weekends in 2018. Here’s the list of official long weekends in Malaysia:
- New Year’s Day, 30 December 2017 to 1 January 2018 (Saturday to Monday)
- Chinese New Year, 16 February to 18 February (Friday to Sunday)
- Hari Raya Puasa, 15 June to 17 June (Friday to Sunday)
- National Day, 31 August to 2 September (Friday to Sunday)
- Malaysia Day, 15 September to 17 September (Saturday to Monday) *To replace 16th September 2018 (Sunday)
However, you could potentially get six more long weekends, if you take leave on the corresponding Mondays, and you’ll be well on your way to an amazing vacation.
- Labour Day, 28 April to 1 May (Saturday to Tuesday)
- Wesak Day, 26 May to 29 May (Saturday to Tuesday)
- Awal Muharram, 8 September to 11 September (Saturday to Tuesday)
- Deepavali, 3 November to 6 November (Saturday to Tuesday)
- Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday (Maulidur Rasul), 17 November to 20 November (Saturday to Tuesday)
- Christmas, 22 December to 25 December (Saturday to Tuesday)
