Capricciosa – Malaysia’s First Halal Certified Italian Restaurant Chain
Capricciosa, the Halal family-style Italian restaurant is now open at the newly renovated Sunway Putra Mall, which is their third outlet after Sunway Pyramid and Pavilion KL. This new outlet occupies an area of 2,200 sq.ft. which is able to accommodate 120 seats, including 80 on the platform and 40 at the alfresco area.
The new outlet was officially launched yesterday by Dr. Jeffrey Goh, Group CEO of Capricciosa Malaysia, Mrs. Keiko Honda, CEO of Capricciosa Japan and wife of the late founder, Mr. Katsuya Negishi, Director of Capricciosa Japan, Representative of Sunway Putra Mall and Ustaz Zulkiefli Mohammad, Information Secretary of the Malaysian Islamic Consumers Association.
The VIPs were invited to add in key and secret ingredients such as garlic, onions and tomatoes to Capricciosa’s famous signature sauce in a big pot and significantly gave it a good stir!
The new outlet in Sunway Putra Mall serves the same menu as the other two outlets in Sunway Pyramid and Pavilion KL, such as their ever popular sharing platters Ocean Madness, Carnivore Platter and Ultimate Surf and Turf. These sharing platters which are served with the signature Ultimate Rice Croquette and Capri Superstar Pasta are suitable for both seafood and meat lovers.
A variety of 11 pizzas are also available at the new outlet. Dig into the Capriciossa, a beefy pizza with mushrooms and bell peppers on top and for cheese devotees, the Quattro Formaggi which comes with 4 kinds of cheese. For a variety, patrons can place orders of “Half & Half”, a choice of two flavors on one pizza. In additional, there are over 60 specialty dishes ranging from poultry to seafood, steaks to lamb shanks and even lobsters to choose from. To ensure the best quality, dishes are only prepared upon order.

Mrs. Honda said, she hopes that the success of Capricciosa Malaysia in getting Halal certification will help to pave ways for Capricciosa to penetrate to other Muslim markets in future.
During the launch, guests were invited to take part in a pizza making contest. They were in teams of three to try their hands to roll out a pizza dough and create their very own version of a Capricciosa Pizza. The friendly competition was judged by Dr. Jeffrey Goh, Mrs. Keiko Honda, and Mr. Katsuya Negishi.
The winning pizza was named ‘1MPB’ and members of the winning team each walked away with a RM100 voucher to dine at Capricciosa. “It was a tough decision with all the creations being extremely unique but in the end the ‘1MPB’ pizza stood out with its flavour and depth”, said the judges.
Guests were also delighted with Capricciosa’s mouth-watering dishes such as Ocean Madness, one of the ever popular trio of sharing platters with Carnivore Platter and Ultimate Surf and Turf being the other two on the menu.
Good news to those who are interested in trying out Capricciosa, as they are having a 50% OFF promotion in conjunction of the opening of its third outlet in Sunway Putra Mall, for dine-in only at any of their outlets.
