Kuala Lumpur City Hall (Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur) is in the midst of setting up a Food Truck Alley which is said to be the first of its kind in Kuala Lumpur.
It has been reported that the Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor hinted that this phenomenal Food Truck Alley will be based near Jalan Sultan Ismail by the Klang River. Furthermore, he explained that the the concept of a food truck alley/street is pretty common in other countries.
The alley will be equipped with sufficient water, electricity as well as waste disposal system for vendors. The Food Truck Alley will be in full effect as soon as the River of Life rejuvenation project is complete. The project is an attempt to clean up, develop and beautify the 10.7km stretch by the Malaysian government.
The River of Life rejuvenation project is expected to be done around this year December, although the National Transformation Report mentioned that progress is slower than expected.
Nevertheless, this Food Truck Alley has potential to be a major attraction in the entire city once the government officially release it.
If you can’t wait till the launch of the Food Truck Alley, you can still enjoy the KL Food Truck Feast which is scheduled to take place the first and third of every month at Merdeka Square (Dataran Merdeka) from Saturday, 9pm – 1am; Sunday, 6.30am – 9.30am.
