Over here at Pamper, we are a big fan of La Casa — a restaurant in Mont Kiara specialises in home-cooked wholesome food from pizzas, to pastas, home baked bread and homemade desserts such as cakes and macaroons.
With Mother’s Day just a few days away, La Casa is rolling out a special set menu called Unconditional Love for all moms out there.
Pamper was honoured to be invited by La Casa to sample what they have to offer. This is what we think about their Mother’s Day menu.
Watermelon Feta Salad
The salad garnished with the best the local gardens have to offer, namely crisp spinach, fresh mint and beautiful sun-ripened tomatoes. The course is completed by a wonderful balsamic vinegar dressing, giving the salad a little extra thrill.
At first I was skeptical with the combination of watermelon and feta cheese. However after a few fork fulls, I got hooked.
The ingredients go perfectly well together. The salad tastes light and refreshing. The feta cheese tops a smooth touch of creaminess and the dressing brings out the flavour of the watermelon, arugula, and mint.
Codfish with Vegetables in a Capsicum and Pepper Jack Cheese Sauce
Probably the highlight of Unconditional Love, which makes its triumphant return to the menu of La Casa with the Mother’s Day set menu.
The first thing that grabbed my attention about this dish is the sauce. It is unique, creamy, tangy, and sweet. The dish, topped with nice, warm cherry tomatoes that burst when you bite into them, as well as the soft and moist codfish, yum, all that in one bite.
Sour Cheese Ice-Cream
The homemade Sour Cherry Ice Cream — beautifully arranged and decorated with colourful blossoms, slices of strawberries and crunchy cookie flakes, this dessert sends your taste buds on a rollercoaster through the flavours.
A simple and yummy Ice Cream, the sour cheese ice cream tastes alright, nothing outstanding. However, I like the fact that the chef decided to end this set menu with a sour taste kind of dessert instead of sweet and common desserts like cheese and chocolate cake.
For the team of La Casa, one day of the year is not enough to truly say thank you to all the mothers in the world. This is why Unconditional Love will be available everyone at La Casa for two whole weeks, starting from May 2 until May 15 for RM118.
