This year marks a 10 year milestone for multi-award winning Marini’s on 57, which’s located on Level 57 of Menara 3 Petronas, the most iconic roof-top destination in the Kuala Lumpur City Centre. This iconic rooftop destination which comprises a rooftop bar, lounge, and Italian contemporary restaurant sits 876ft (267m) above sea level in the heart of Kuala Lumpur City and offers the closest view of the Petronas Twin Towers and panoramic views of the city.
Well known for its fine dining in contemporary Italian cuisine, Marini’s on 57 offers culinary enthusiasts a fabulous dining and sensory experience. The restaurant which was founded in 2012 by Cavaliere Modesto Marini, an Italian chef, restaurateur and entrepreneur, has and continues to make its mark in the local and global culinary scene as the finest hospitality and entertainment venue in Kuala Lumpur over the years.
Marini’s on 57 will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a line-up of festivities and celebration, themed “Viva Marini“, throughout the month of October. The activities include the introduction of Founder’s Menu, bartending competition, bartender guest shifts, and an anniversary party!
The Founder’s Menu
Marini’s on 57 marks its first decade with a tantalising 10-course menu to showcase its fine contemporary Italian cuisine. The menu is thoughtfully curated by the founders and their chefs to provide guests an exceptional dining experience.
This Founder’s Menu, which will be available from 1 October till 31st December 2022, is a reinterpretation of the 10 popular dishes of the restaurant over the years. This includes Pan-Seared Foie Gras. Hokkaido Scallops, Seared Cod Fish, a choice of pasta with lobster or truffles, and desserts.
We were lucky enough to be invited to preview the menu early this week, and we have to say it was one of my best fine dining experiences ever! It was an upscale, unique dining experience where you will enjoy more than the flavours of the food. The preparation of the dishes was so attentively detailed and very well explained by the staff. Everything was perfectly served, from the presentation of the dishes to the flavour combinations to the well-thought-out wine pairing!
Bartender Guest Shift Series
For cocktail lovers, look out for the Viva Marini Guest Shift Series which kicks off at the Marini’s on 57 Bar on 10 October 2022. The guest bartenders lined up are Rizal Junior, Bastien Michaud and Symphony Loo.
Junior was the head bartender of the pioneer team at Marini’s on 57 and the Sabahan returns to his old stomping grounds on 10 October to work his brand of mixology magic for one night.
Michaud is Pernod Ricard’s brand ambassador for Martell, Mumm and Perrier-Jouet. The Frenchman is a food and drink enthusiast with extensive knowledge of wine and spirits. Catch him in action on 17 October as he displays his bartending skills – honed from working in trendy cocktail bars in Paris – to create delicious concoctions for the evening.
One of the rare roses among the thorns in the bartending community, Loo is the Campari Group’s Regional Brand Ambassador for Southeast Asia and the On Premise Channel Manager for South East Asia and India. She rose to prominence in 2017 when she was awarded the “Rising Star of the Year” at the Singapore Bar Awards and when she later won the Codigo Competition that same year. Loo will be showcasing her skills on 20 October at the Marini’s on 57 Anniversary Party.
Bartending Competition
Marini’s on 57 is also looking to shake and stir things up in October with the Viva Marini Bartending Competition at the Marini’s on 57 Lounge. The top bartender will walk away with a cash prize of RM10,000 while second and third place will receive RM5,000 and RM3,000 respectively.
For the preliminary round, participants will need to send in an original cocktail recipe and a video of themselves making an open format cocktail of their choice. The videos may be submitted from 3 to 30 October 2022. Ten finalists will be shortlisted and the winner crowned at the final event in November.
The selected bartenders will have to present three original cocktails – two themed ones using certain spirits, and one open format cocktail – in a live event at the Marini’s on 57 Lounge on 14 November. A panel of judges will taste and vote to decide the winner of the Viva Marini Bartending Competition.

10th Anniversary Party
October is traditionally when Marini’s on 57 holds its anniversary parties and this year’s event is set to be big bash. The Marini’s on 57 Viva Marini 10th Anniversary Party on 20 October will feature guest deejay and Grammy Award nominee Timo Maas. The German deejay and producer returns to the Marini’s on 57 Bar to take over the decks for the night and will spin his brand of electronic dance music. The party with Timo Maas will start at 8.00pm and guests are encouraged to make reservations for the party.
