Tucked in the buzzing streets of Kuchai Lama is La’Vin Winery which offers a warm solace from a long hard day at work.
Known as your neighborhood bar and restaurant, its cozy interior of refurbished wood pallet furniture, arrays of wine bottles, and vintage memorabilia scattered around, at every corner there’s something to discover.
With Christmas and New Year approaching, La’Vin Winery is amping up the celebratory mood with its limited edition Christmas and New Year Platter (RM79.90, Platter Only). Said to feed between 2 to 3 people, this joy of a platter comes with a slab of BBQ Smoked Pork Ribs, Mexican Grilled Corn, Mixed Sautéed Vegetables, Smoky Fries, Chips and an assortment of sausages such as Spicy Longanisa, Black Pepper Sausage, and Footlong Sausage. Not forgetting, the delicious Mash Potatoes hiding beneath the sausages and the three sauces to accompany all those delicious elements such as the smoked aioli, hickory BBQ, and salsa mexicana.
The meal is not complete without some drinks to help you wash it all down and keep the merriment going, so sip on the delicious White Sangria (RM23) and Red Sangria (RM23), made with selected wines from the restaurant together with brandy, Sprite, lemonade with muddled orange, lemon and lime pieces.
Grab some friends and celebrate Christmas and New Year with this platter set with a glass of red sangria and white sangria for RM108, now’s that’s a bargain, and your bellies will be satisfied too.
If the Christmas platter is not filling enough for the hungry bunch, why not order the Grilled Pork Shoulder and Pork Burger? These two are La’Vin Winery’s best-selling signature dishes which goes well with some wine or beer!
The Grilled Pork Shoulder (RM16.90) is my personal favourite and a MUST-EAT when you’re here. Tender grilled pork shoulder slathered with white wine mustard and cream sauce together with the bacon bits topped mashed potatoes underneath, it’s an unforgettable taste.
For the burger fans, the Pork Burger (RM14.90) is a combination of grilled juicy pork patty topped with a layer of provolone cheese and crispy bacon bits, along with its usual vegetable accompaniment of onions and lettuce. The toasted sesame seed bun adds a slight crunch and holds the juices from the patty in place. And what’s a burger without its crispy smoked fries? This one comes with a garlic dip sauce that will keep you coming for more.
The Christmas and New Year Platter (RM79.90 / RM108 with 2 Sangrias) and Sangrias (RM23 each) are available from 21st December 2016 – 1st January 2017.
