Step into the Year of the Snake with The Encounter (如期而遇), Miu Miu’s captivating short film directed by Shujun Wei. Featuring brand ambassadors Liu Haocun and Zhao Jinmai, the story begins in a bustling Cantonese tea house in Beijing before transforming into a whimsical dreamscape of music, dance, and magic—perfectly capturing the joy and optimism of Lunar New Year.
Set against the lively backdrop of Yi Lau Yi, the film follows the duo as musicians and diners mysteriously vanish, leaving them free to explore an enchanting space filled with playful moments and wonder.
The film mirrors the celebratory spirit of Miu Miu’s collection, which features a playful mix of oversized sweaters, preppy tweeds, jewel-encrusted denim, and signature accessories like ballerinas, loafers, and statement bags (The Penny, Wander, and Arcadie). Festive touches abound, including crochet-knit serpents, rose-tinted eyewear, and lucky red hoodies and T-shirts to welcome the auspicious season.
Miu Miu’s Lunar New Year celebrations extend beyond fashion with immersive experiences. Lexie Liu’s new single, Come Dance – Miu Miu Encounter, debuts at Raccoon Records in Shanghai. Meanwhile, vibrant events at Beijing’s historic Shichahai Rink and Guangzhou’s Liwan Park feature ice-skating and the exclusive Fortune Book for 2025.
