French powerhouse Hermès has introduced a new timepiece to its Médor line, the Médor Serti Baguette.
Inspired by the original created in 1993, the watch draws its influence from the dog collars that Hermès once used to make in its early days, alongside its harnesses for horses.
The Médor Secrète is smothered with 656 diamonds, including a Ceylon-cut diamond set on the crown, making a grand total of 17.8 carats.
Housed in the square white gold case, a quartz calibre drives the hours and minutes hands. The smooth sapphire blue or geranium alligator strap is hand-crafted. The captivating and contemporary Médor Serti Baguette inevitably draws the gaze to its dazzlingly pure robe of light.
The three pyramids (one on the case and two on the straps) lined up on a hand-made alligator strap involved a distinctive feat of engineering and called for complete mastery of the gem setting art.
Each of these stones were individually cut before being precisely placed, to highlight their cleanly cut angles, and also give a smooth gemstone surface, creating a dance of light above its square white gold case.
